| I was not interested by sculpture. That because it missed elements that were essential for me: graphics and color. Influenced by the esthetics of the Seventies, I carried out my first geometrical painted steels. I did not venture into color and limited myself to black and metallic values. From 1990 I assembled polychrome steel plates whose contours resulted from almost instantaneous tags. As far as color was concerned, all I could do was a simple meaningless color filling. To overcome this dead end, I had to seek for a long time the obvious solution which was under my eyes. |
