| I was not interested by sculpture. That because it missed elements that were essential for me: graphics and color. Influenced by the esthetics of the Seventies, I carried out my first geometrical painted steels. I did not venture into color and limited myself to black and metallic values. From 1990 I assembled polychrome steel plates whose contours resulted from almost instantaneous tags. Most of these shapes and colours did not convince me, and it took me years to find the « sound » I was looking for. |
